Now Enrolling for Spring 2024 Semester

Student Spotlight: Jennifer R

At AlliedRx Institute of Healthcare, we take great pride in our commitment to providing high-quality education to our students. We are excited to share the inspiring story of one of our recent pharmacy technician graduate students Jennifer R.
What did you study while you were in school and how has it influenced your career path?

I studied in the Pharmacy Technician Certification program. I had already been working as an order entry technician but I have just changed jobs to a hands on position in long term care thanks to you all and the confidence I gained through the class.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable experience from your time in school?

Speaking with the ASHP accreditation group as an advocate for the school was definitely an interesting experience. My one on one time in class with my teacher, Ms. Short, helped me feel more prepared and confident in class and to take the national exam.

What advice would you give to current students or recent graduates?

Spend time studying throughout the week and make sure to pace yourself on your course work. It is definitely doable and manageable while working!

Can you share a significant accomplishment you’ve achieved since graduating?

Yes! I passed the PTCB National Certification Exam on my first try on New Year’s Eve Day 2022. I am now a fully licensed Virginia Pharmacy Technician and am on the Advisory Board for our school. I have also gotten a new hands on position with higher pay and better hours since the end of class.

How has your education and experiences at AlliedRx helped shape who you are today?

AlliedRx has given me an incredible confidence boost to move forward in my pharmacy technician career. I was no longer afraid to apply and interview for positions outside of my comfort zone and also ask for the pay rate I thought I deserved.
